Rodeo Austin – “Where Weird Meets Western”

10464414_966711633346765_8440503468039135221_nThe day after Rodeo Houston ended, I headed straight to Rodeo Austin for my sixth consecutive week of having a rodeo every day. When you represent the state with the most rodeos in the country, you tend to stay busy! I was excited to go back to Rodeo Austin since that is where my “rodeo queening career” began. I was Miss Rodeo Austin 2013 and held that title when I competed to become Miss Rodeo Texas 2014.

Once I got to Rodeo Austin, I was joined by Miss Rodeo Austin 2015, Chloe Costello, and Miss Rodeo Austin Princess 2015, Destinee Brown. I had so much fun spending time with these girls and really enjoyed getting to know them better. During the rodeo each night, we rode in to be introduced, helped with the Mutton Bustin’, rode in the barrel truck, and signed plenty of autographs afterwards.

In addition to the rodeo, I also got to go to a hospital visit with Team Rodeo Austin. The bullfighters, barrelman, Chloe, Destinee, and I went to the Dell Children’s Hospital where we got to interact with several amazing kids. We took pictures, signed autographs, colored and drew pictures together. I love getting to meet with these sweet patients and hopefully bring a little brightness to their day.

Thank you to Bucky Lamb, the CEO of Rodeo Austin, for letting me be a part of their rodeo and to Haley Luedke for scheduling my trip. It has always been a pleasure to work with both of you! Everyone at Rodeo Austin is like a family to me, all of your hard work and hospitality is greatly appreciated! I loved getting to go back to a rodeo that has played such a big role in my life and I look forward to the last few rodeos of my year as Miss Rodeo Texas!11174908_10155504954850437_8138569581534966913_n
