Lunch in Utopia at The Laurel Tree

Hello Miss Rodeo Texas Fans,

On July 21, Marjorie Murphy and I headed out to the hill country of Texas to have lunch in Utopia at the Laurel Tree. The Laurel Tree is owned by the Waters family, who is a generous sponsor of the Miss Rodeo Texas scholarship. Chef Laurel Waters perfected her culinary skills in Paris, studying at LeCordon Bleu and earning a LeGrand Diplome in Cuisine, Pastry, and Wine. When making her dishes Laurel uses fresh herbs and vegetables that are grown on location in a beautiful garden behind the restaurant. The food was amazing, and I enjoyed each of the four courses that were served. I would definitely recommend if you have a free Saturday to make reservations and experience this delicious cuisine. Your taste buds will be thanking you! Following lunch Marjorie and I joined Lou and Wanda Waters at their home to visit and look at their America Quarter Horses. Years ago I purchased one of my favorite barrel racing horses from the Waters. It brought back great memories looking at pictures of my horse’s sire hanging on their walls. After visiting Utopia, I can see why this town received the name Utopia as the land is beautiful. I would like to thank the Waters for welcoming us to their home, and for their contribution to the Miss Rodeo Texas pageant.

Best Western Wishes,

  Rosanna Pace
