My First Appearances as Miss Rodeo Texas

Greetings Miss Rodeo Texas Fans,

My first week as Miss Rodeo Texas is officially in the books.  The day after being crowned, I was off to my first appearance as Miss Rodeo Texas at the CBR Bull Riding in New Braunfels.  While at the bull riding, I had the privilege of working with the Ropin’ Dreams organization. In case anyone may not know, Ropin’ Dreams is a great non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of young people faced with daily challenges due to serious illness or injury.  Prior to winning Miss Rodeo Texas, I had watched a show on television featuring the Ropin’ Dreams organization, and it featured some of the children they had made dreams come true for.  As a future educator, I take helping youth to heart.  After all they are the future of tomorrow.  Upon learning about this great cause, I knew that I wanted to work with this organization and was so excited to be doing so at my first appearance!  A few of the children that were on the television show were  present at the bull riding event. It was fun to get to meet them in person.  I had a wonderful time visiting and making snow cones with the children, as well as assisting them with the mutton bustin’.  The kids were so excited to compete in mutton bustin’.  One little girl in particular informed me that she was "just riding sheep to practice for riding bulls," and that one day she, "wants to be a professional bull rider!" Better watch out Maggie Parker!  It looks like you may have some competition!  I would like to thank Dub and Cindy McClister for being gracious enough to invite Miss Rodeo Texas to this spectacular event.

For the first weekend of Fourth of July rodeos,(June 28-30th) I went to the UPRA 4th of July Rodeo in Teague, Texas. I had so much fun riding in the grand entry, and pushing cattle out of the arena during the timed events. During the rodeo I was able to visit with rodeo fans, and share my love of rodeo with others. So far my year is off to a fantastic start, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for me. I had a great time getting to know to the rodeo announcer, TC Long, and am looking forward to working with him at future rodeos. Thank you to the UPRA for such a great time in Teague.

Sincerely,
Rosanna Pace
