Belton PRCA 4th of July Rodeo

 Hello Miss Rodeo Texas Fans,

I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July with family, friends, good food, and fireworks. My family and I had a nice relaxing day before I headed off to the PRCA Belton 4th of July Rodeo. As we celebrate Independence Day this year, let’s not forget to thank our troops for their sacrifices so that we may have our freedom and live in such a great country! The theme of the Belton Rodeo was military appreciation with the rodeo starting off Thursday with Military Appreciation Night. Before the rodeo I was able to visit with troops and their families. I really enjoyed getting to know them, and thanking them for their service. The rodeo also brought in soldiers from Ft Hood and honored them in the arena prior to the start of the rodeo.

Every night during the rodeo I carried flags with the All American Cowgirl Chicks.  The All American Cowgirl Chicks are a trick riding PRCA specialty act out of Weatherford, Texas. Let me tell you, this group of ladies is as talented as they are kind. On Friday morning the Cowgirl Chicks and I went to visit the Children’s Hospital in Temple. We signed autographs, passed out toys, and colored with the children. While visiting the Children’s Hospital, I was so inspired by the children and how brave they are. It was great to be able to visit with them, and to be able to bring smiles to their faces.

After wrapping up three nights of rodeo in Belton, I’d say it was a successful Fourth of July. I would like to thank Keith Smith and the Belton Rodeo Committee for their hospitality and welcoming me on board! They are such a great team and put on an impressive rodeo! If you are in the Belton area next Fourth of July, I highly recommended you attend this PRCA rodeo!

The next stop on my journey as Miss Rodeo Texas will be "The Daddy of Them All" in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Be sure to stay tuned for updates and pictures on the Miss Rodeo Texas blog, Facebook, and Twitter while I’m out on the road!

Happy Trails,
Rosanna Pace

My First Appearances as Miss Rodeo Texas

Greetings Miss Rodeo Texas Fans,

My first week as Miss Rodeo Texas is officially in the books.  The day after being crowned, I was off to my first appearance as Miss Rodeo Texas at the CBR Bull Riding in New Braunfels.  While at the bull riding, I had the privilege of working with the Ropin’ Dreams organization. In case anyone may not know, Ropin’ Dreams is a great non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling the dreams of young people faced with daily challenges due to serious illness or injury.  Prior to winning Miss Rodeo Texas, I had watched a show on television featuring the Ropin’ Dreams organization, and it featured some of the children they had made dreams come true for.  As a future educator, I take helping youth to heart.  After all they are the future of tomorrow.  Upon learning about this great cause, I knew that I wanted to work with this organization and was so excited to be doing so at my first appearance!  A few of the children that were on the television show were  present at the bull riding event. It was fun to get to meet them in person.  I had a wonderful time visiting and making snow cones with the children, as well as assisting them with the mutton bustin’.  The kids were so excited to compete in mutton bustin’.  One little girl in particular informed me that she was "just riding sheep to practice for riding bulls," and that one day she, "wants to be a professional bull rider!" Better watch out Maggie Parker!  It looks like you may have some competition!  I would like to thank Dub and Cindy McClister for being gracious enough to invite Miss Rodeo Texas to this spectacular event.

For the first weekend of Fourth of July rodeos,(June 28-30th) I went to the UPRA 4th of July Rodeo in Teague, Texas. I had so much fun riding in the grand entry, and pushing cattle out of the arena during the timed events. During the rodeo I was able to visit with rodeo fans, and share my love of rodeo with others. So far my year is off to a fantastic start, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store for me. I had a great time getting to know to the rodeo announcer, TC Long, and am looking forward to working with him at future rodeos. Thank you to the UPRA for such a great time in Teague.

Sincerely,
Rosanna Pace

Meet the New Miss Rodeo Texas 2012

   Hello Miss Rodeo Texas Fans,

At this time I would like to introduce myself and welcome you to the new Miss Rodeo Texas Blog! This is the first time that Miss Rodeo Texas has had a blog, as well as my first time to blog! My name is Rosanna Pace; I was crowned the 53rd Miss Rodeo Texas in San Antonio, Texas on Friday, June 22, 2012. Becoming Miss Rodeo Texas has been a dream of mine since I was a young girl, when I met a former Miss Rodeo Texas at our home town PRCA rodeo. I wish I could remember her name, but I will never forget her beauty and grace as I watched her ride her horse around the arena. It sill seams surreal that the coveted crown is on my head after all of my years of hard work, and watching so many of the beautiful women that I have looked up to wearing it!
Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Texas A&M University, following my Bachelors of Art in Communication. I am excited to use my educational background to educate and advocate for the things I feel most passionate about: Texas, rodeo, agriculture, and the western way of life! I love to rodeo, and have run barrels since I was four years old. When I am not riding horses, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, playing tennis, and reading!
I’m really excited about having the opportunity to share my experiences this year as your 2012 Miss Rodeo Texas.   I hope you enjoy following me down the rodeo trail!
Sincerely,
              Rosanna Pace
